What is the Knoxville Youth Performing Arts Association?

The Knoxville Youth Performing Arts Association (KYPAA) is a non-profit organization that provides arts education and performance opportunities for young people throughout Knox County.

What grade do I have to be in to join the KYPAA?

We currently welcome any students in 6th - 12th grades to join the KYPAA. 

What kind of music do we perform?

The KYPAA performs a variety of music, including classical, jazz, pop, traditional and contemporary Broadway musical theater, gospel, international selections and more.

How often do we meet?

KYPAA programs meet for rehearsal once a week. Occasionally rehearsals will increase for periods leading up to performances or special week-long programs.

For Students

What do I need to bring to rehearsal?

You will need to bring your music folder and a pencil. Folders will be provided at the first rehearsal.

What should I wear to rehearsal?

You should wear comfortable, appropriate clothing that you can move around in easily.

What if I can't make it to a rehearsal?

If you can't make it to a rehearsal, please let the director know as soon as possible. (Contact information can be found on the Contact us! tab)
